Dwight Crum Pier-to-Pier Swim
The Dwight Crum Pier-to-Pier Swim is one of the most popular long distance swims in the United States. Last year over 1100 swimmers completed this grueling two-mile course. Swimmers begin the race on the south side of the Hermosa Beach Pier. They swim round the Pier, parallel to shore then round the Manhattan Beach Pier and finish on the beach.
Any contestant who did not complete the 2011 Pier-to-Pier swim must pass a 500-meter “check out” swim. Swim “check outs” will be held at the Hermosa Beach Pier on July 14th, 21st, and 22nd, 2012 from 9am – 11am. Decisions of Lifeguards at “check out” are final. 2011 Dwight Crum Pier-to-Pier Swim finishers are exempt from “check out”. The swim will again be conducted in 2 heats and will include a wetsuit division.
Registration for all contestants including those needing a "check out" swim must be done on-line through the registration link below. The registration fee for entries received on or before July 12th is $45. The registration fee for applications received between July 13 and July 22 is $60. No refunds, substitutes, or race day entries will be allowed. Please see the "Swim FAQ's" for additional information on the swim.
