Internation Bodysurfing Championships
The International Body Surfing Championship will be held on the north side of the Manhattan Beach Pier. The event will consist of 9 men and womens divisions. Some age groups will be determined immediately before the contest begins and will be approximately equal in size.
Limit of 126 male contestants and 36 female contestants. Each division will have approximately 3 preliminary heats of approximately 6 contestants. The top 2 finishers in each preliminary heat will advance to a championship heat in that division.
The ISF Body Surfing Championships are run by the Gillis Beach Body Surfing Club. Participants range in ability from the relative novice body surfers to former World Champions. No special equipment, swim fins only. Entries must be received on or before Thursday, August 2, 2012 or a late fee will be assessed. Beach entries will only be accepted if space in age groups is available. Applications, event results and photos are available on links from this webpage.
