International Bodysurfing Championships were held August 2, 2003 at the Manhattan Beach Pier.  The event, sponsored by the Gillis Beach Bodysurfing Assn., had a record number of entrants enjoy good surf and fierce competition.  The youngest competitor was a 9 1/2 year old girl and the oldest was a 70 year old man.
